Northern Light II - Day 1

After the 9.00am racing start , that we approached with caution, we set off slowly gaining on a few boats. Decided to put up our down wind sail which did well until gusts of 18 knots meant it came down again! On white sails since and we are happy with our passage plan now having covered 157 miles in 23 hours.

Thats the positive. We have also been plagued by more electrical problems. Radar not working, voltage on batteries going to less than 10v when using the electric winches which results in the chartplotters switching off. A job to sort in Bayona ! Hand steering / hydrovane all the way now.
