As another day closes in on SY Bluejay we get ever closer to our destination, and more importantly our colleagues and competitors on SY Hummingbird. Our evenings check-in suggests we are only 15NM apart which is quite impressive considering the great vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. Earlier this afternoon we were greeted with our first whale sighting- a medium sized creature which launched itself from the depths of the deep blue and breached three times - much to our amusement and awe. As we continue into the evening the Thai chicken curry is being lovingly prepared in the galley, Alex, our Skipper, headlines the cockpit with her guitar and sweet voice as we sing along and listen to the cackles coming from the galley team as they navigate the evenings meal in the ever so consistent Atlantic swell.
