Storyteller - Day 11 - a tuna for you

Conditions are much the same as yesterday and the day before and the forecast for the next 3 days is....delightful. We haven't seen another boat for several days, but today who should be alongside us but Shamara of Mooloolaba, who we first met in Gibraltar and have bumped into in Panama and the Galapagos. they've lost all their Iridium phone connection, so haven't been able to receive emails, including the all important daily weather forecast from Bruce of Perth.

The benign conditions, together with a steady diet of tuna have sparked
a rush of creativity on Storyteller. We've also been shamed by the witty entries of the Irish crews with their St Patrick's Day contributions. So, here's Rosemary's epistle, with apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Tomorrow it's Tony of Wellington, followed by Jim of the Gold Coast. (There may be subsequent odes to bananas and to rum.)

AN ODE TO TUNA

How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways;-
First Japanese sushi and French Bouillabaise.
Then confit for comfort, dripping in oil,
sauteed, lip-smacking with veggies and all.
Inca ceviche and salad tatare,
Raw is so easy when in slithers and rare.
Tagine from the casbah sweet spices won't spoil,
Thai curry and rice with Omega 3 oil.
Pate on fresh bread, a constant at lunch,
Fish cakes a standby on Fridays for brunch.

The fridge is groaning, the freezer is stressed,
For Pacific cruising we find tuna is best.

Bonito finito!
