Grey and dreich for most of the day yesterday, rainy and squally until clearing up again late afternoon.10 knot wind E/SE, backing eastward , only doing 5-6 knots (and down to 3-4 knots for 2 hours!) for most of the day. While having sundowners we hook a marlin which immediately breaks the 150lb line. It’s the first marlin any of us has ever seen and we watch it thrashing about on the surface before it leaves , with another of our skippy lures!! It’s light airs all through the night, still a full moon but with a cloudy sky. By morning it’s cleared up and the sun is shining with a few puffy trade wind clouds scattered around. Not a squall to be seen so up goes the spinnaker – skipper now very happy!
Now cruising along at 7-8 knots, spinnaker set perfectly. COG 264’
