Whitbread - It's a bit wobbly.

Had a close encounter with a non-WARC sailing boat this morning a German sail boat that passed within a few boat lengths, not sure they looked to be heading to the Marquesas though. It was a bit of a worry that the VHF transmission was so broken up when we could have literally shouted across to them, so either his set or ours needs a look at - put it on the list. Ah yes, the list. A few items that need attention which continues to grow and expand as if it has taken on a life all of its own. Think we are going to be busy in the Marquesas.

The other thing that happened on the sunrise watch, which is the most amazing time of day as the darkness fades away, the sun pops up behind you and all those menacing looking clouds reveal themselves as fluffy white ones, was a murder. In fact it was more of a slaughter. At the last count, because we still keep finding them, we had 29 flying fish laying dead on the deck. Most of them were tiny baby ones aswell, ahhh - still they tasted pretty good fried up in a little garlic butter!

Ok not much today although I would like to squeeze in a little hello to my good friends Sophie and Ben who at some point I think tomorrow morning, its hard to work out the time difference, will be getting married in Melbourne,
Australia and I hope they have a fantastic day, I really wish I could have been there to celebrate with them but very much look forward to seeing them soon after we arrive in Oz. We shall definately be having a celebratory drink to thenew Mr and Mrs Wood onboard and wish them many congratulations.
