Wednesday 9th April
COMPOSING DAY!
Not much happening this morning the kite is up, a few jobs being done, in particular Malcy is doing some varnishing, Barry is cooking some more tuna and Lindsey and JB are doing their journals in the case of JB which will form the basis of some spectacular prose, the composition of which has delayed the sending of the log as we catch up after days ashore!
Thursday 10th April
On route to Ringaroa.
Friday 11th April
RINGAROA
Slack water was supposed to be around 3 pm through the pass in this coral atoll, but we managed to get in with relative ease just after midday with the current against us! First impressions were good with clear water and the
atoll, which is the second largest in the Tuamotos a picture with good-looking beaches and the odd palm tree, in fact thoroughly delightful. (You may have noticed I've been getting the predicted writers block for some time now!).
We ate at the Hotel Kia Ora and ran up our largest bill (around £70 each) of the trip, but with cocktails at £10 each (x 2 for some of us) it wasn't that surprising!
