Saturday 12th April
DIVING DAY
JB, Barry and I went diving with the 6 Passengers Dive Company in the Avatoru Pass (where the highlights were undoubtedly the 3 sharks swimming close by us and a turtle 2 inches away from Barry's face- all but licking
him!) and Barry went off and did 2 more dives during the day.
JB and I spent a long time waiting for a lift into town and ended up talking to Frederique the owner of the dive company and a German couple, who amongst other info told us that they were disappointed in Bora Bora as did a
Canadian couple, who we met on Sunday at the Hotel. Fred was an interesting guy who had spent 6 years sailing the South Pacific before starting the dive centre and then selling his boat. A lot of French nationals come out to do
things like teach, but apparently don't last all that long if one of them is not working as unless you are into water sports there isn't that much to do and they are bored rigid!
