This is an almost deserted village called Tetemanu on the south side of Fakarava. There are just a couple of fishing families living there and a small holiday pension of 8 chalets. The coral is amazing all the way into the shore you can see different brightly coloured corals and fish. further out various sharks. There is one long lane down which are the remains of a large number of houses. We left Fakarava today going out the southern pass by Tetamanu. It is quite narrow and shallow and we had a current running with us of about 4 knots. The morning was squally but we are now having to motorsail as there is little wind. We hope to be in Tahiti in a couple of days
