Lady Kay - motu and marae

motu hopping from ra'iatea to taha'a

sunday at motu naonao great day trip for the locals. Families arrived in small dinghies with tables and chairs and food and hinano beer for the day. the families made 'camps' in the shade of the trees and lit barbecues. People spent very little time on the sand which although it looked inviting, was home to lots of hermit crabs. The day was spent in the water swimming, fishing and the odd polynesian canoe could be seen paddled by young man and very decorative girl at prow complete with flowers in her hair.

Just before sunset all the little boats set off for the shore filled with people and stuff. There was no rubbish left behind. It was then time for Lady Kay to party with Harmonie and its is crew.

Monday am v reluctantly left Naonao and had good view of marae taputapuatea. Now anchored at another motu on taha'a.
