Over a week now in Mauritius and we will be off to
Reunion in a couple of days. Weather has been very mixed varying
from severe squalls to just strong winds with occasional
sunshine. The island is a mixuture as well - top class resorts and 3rd
world towns. We have seen a tea plantation and factory, rum distillery,
vanilla prodution, Hindu temples, colonial mansions, another crocodile farm,
lunched overlooking fabulous reefs, etc.
One night we had a BBQ on the
quayside with 5 piece band and 2 Saga dancers plus 3 of our male members dressed
up in the appropriate dresses. A 16 strong Virgin Airline crew also
came along. Last night it was drinks on one boat then curry on another before
visiting the nearby casino (won £10!). A very social time has been had by
all and it a definately time for us to press on.
Andante is in good nick and we hope the cyclone to
the north of us will have moved away enabling us to have a comfortable short hop
to Reunion. Hope you are all well and thanks for news from home.
Love / best regards to you all from Ann and me. ps Haven't heared from
David Shorrock for months and we would be most grateful for news from any
source.
