I am sitting on my watch at 5.30am. reflecting on our time in South Africa, whilst watching an amazingly bright orange sunrise coming up over the stern of the boat. What a hectic Christmas and New Year, with lots of ARC parties, plus six of our family living on board. We did get to 2 Game Reserves, both of which were absolutely fantastic, and drove down the garden route, staying in National Parks and spectacular bays along the coast. We met some great people and have millions of photos and wonderful memories. Now its back to sailing and on with our journey, next is St.Helena on the Cape to Bahia race.We are doing well but the wind has died completely,so we are now forced to motor. We have 2 new crew on board, both friends from Lanzarote,Bernar and Nick (probably why we are doing so well) as they are good sailors. The generator is still broken, after 5 weeks of repair!!!! and the freezer has also broken,so its out with the fishing rods. The weather has been gloriously hot,so we are enjoying ourselves as usual, and send you all the best for this New Year of 2009.Lots of Love The Talulahrubians.
