Crazy Horse - Moorea

We arrived to the majestic island of Moorea at 2am this morning. We just meandered around waiting for the light of day to make a safe passage through the pass. We were not disappointed with the beauty of the mountain, hills, colors, and perfume smell of the flowers all around. At 7am a cool breeze brought us into the most perfect anchorage with no roll or swells.

Today even though exhausted, we discovered many of the shops and just plain tourist traps. We had to savor some hamburgers and fries. Seems like a long time we enjoyed such an accustomed snack. Wonderful pineapple farms dot the hills surrounding us. Can't wait to visit them and enjoy the fruit we have been missing.

Tonight we plan on viewing a firey exotic dance routine at the Pearl Resort and dinner at Rudy's with real steaks. Fish has been great but sometimes you just have to have a STEAK!
After dinner and the dancing I am sure Bill, Matt, and I will all gladly roll into our unrolly bunks aboard Crazy Horse. We have not had a lot of sleep lately on our trip from Rangiroa. Ocean Jasper is here at this anchorage too and they are looking forward to staying at the Pearl Resort and soaking in the spa and pool.

We will await the coming of the other ARC participants and look for the awe on their faces as they behold this anchorage and island of Moorea. I have heard that there are more such anchorages on this island and surrounding Society Islands.

Oh, I almost forgot that as we approached an island before Moorea late last night we got buzzed by the French military. Ocean Jasper said the planes buzzed them too. We must have alerted them since we passed by the island where they do a lot of practice firing. We half expected to hear alarms or warning sounds. Later as we were waiting for the light of day we swore some planes were survailing us outside of Moorea. Anyway, it makes for an exciting story and nothing happened but we definitely had our imaginations working overtime.

Well, more on the island tomorrow. We hope to take a buggy ride around the island to see the sights.

Rosemary, Bill, and Matt
