Crazy Horse - May 21-Bora Bora

This will probably be our last day in Bora Bora. We have enjoyed our stay here and becoming members of the Bora Bora Yacht Club. The family atmosphere and their love and care of the local homeless animals and friendly and welcoming attitude toward transients is refreshing. Teiva and Jessica are the young owners of BBYC and have a lot on their plate with the reconstruction of the club since the hurricane came through here in Jan. '10.

Yesterday Bill and I and Chessie went for a tour of the island with Henry who's family has lived here for generations. He showed us the anti-aircraft guns still left here from WWII. Some of the US soldiers from that war never left. So there are Americans dotting these islands leftover from WWII. You can get the idea that this is a wonderful place to live if you love the ocean, sand, warm weather, fishing, sailing, friendly faces, and lush plants and fruits.

We had a farewell dinner last night with Ocean Jasper and Wild Tigris. We will all be moving on tomorrow for either Nuie, Raratonga, or Suwarrow.

There are many things we will miss in French Polynesia. We won't miss the hight cost of everything. We won't miss having to use Polynesian francs. We will be using New Zealand currency since we will be in the Cook Islands which are part of New Zealand.
