Yesterday, I was catching up on the whereabouts of the other fleet members. It is interesting that we are scattered all over this large island. I won't mention where the other bloggers are located because you can read about them. These are the boats I know about in the south.
Crazy Horse of course is still here in Mackay Marina getting work done on painting the bottom, getting a boom bag done for our mainsail, and working on our plumbing system, and getting some analyzing done of the engine. Hopefully we will complete the work and be in the water by Friday. We hope to head in the direction of Cairns then.
Ocean Jasper is in the water but still getting the finishing touches done on the new generator. They should be ready and leaving with us on Sat. Jim is here but Bob and Maggie are still in Sydney enjoying some family time with their sons. They will return on Friday; Brown Eyed Girl is still here and hope to leave sometime after Thursday. Judy and Jerrad had a road trip and I heard they made friends with some huge crocs. No thank you!; Jeannius is here and leaving with us on Sat for the North. Jean and Mike went down to Sydney for a short trip; We had a surprise viewing of what we thought was Ronja. Turns out is was the Ronjans and we had a good short reunion with them. They are still planning on visiting with everyone in Darwin.
Think that is all about the fleet from this position. Can't know for sure if all this information will be the same after today. You imagine by now our positions are determined by the weather and the workings of the boat and crew. We had a severe thunderstorm last night in Mackay. Matt stayed on the boat and secured the Crazy Horse. The wind was howling, and we had some strong rain and thunder and lightening. It just isn't quite as exciting when you are in the safety of a hotel room.
It will be so wonderful to catch up with the rest of the fleet and are looking forward to seeing them all in Cairns or Darwin. It seems like so long ago that we all were together.
