The windward side of each San Blas island is a treasure trove for the flip-flop hunter. You don't need to take any shoes onshore with you, just grab a pair off the beach. Well, probably not a pair, because the matching shoe will be sitting on a completely different island. However, if you hunt around a bit you can find a pretty good match.
Here is Andrea modelling a blue almost-pair she found. One of them had a split sole that had been carefully sewn up, so they served someone well until they got washed away from some Caribbean beach.
The island is called Green Island. It is uninhabited, just a clump of palm trees surrounded by white sand.
