Greetings from yacht Ensemble.
We've spent the last couple of days getting ready for the Panama Canal and doing tourist stuff here in Panama.
Yesterday Magali went shopping with the guys from Wind Dancer - with the highlight being the taxi managed a flat tire on the way back. After a few sundowners on Wind Dancer with the Glamorous Galah we had quiz night at the bar - (we supported the Gunvor team and managed joint first - on count back). We escaped as the evening degenerated into Karioke. (Magali is picking up a microphone and Wii game to practice on the boat).
This morning we had to move Ensemble to the other side of the dock because a super yacht was coming in later in the day. Of course the wind picked up to 20 knots - and it took some work to bring her in sideways against the wind.
We went bird watching in the national park that is next to the marina. In the afternoon we went on a tour of the Panama Canal... impressive ... and a little intimidating seeing these huge container ships pass through with less than a meter each side (the one we saw was the 'Brisbane' - out of HK).
Well - tomorrow we'll see it all for ourselves first hand from the boat's perspective....
