The boat was pulled yesterday - an interesting (meaning difficult!) process as we had to back into the slip or unhook both forestays, there was a lot of wind and our bow thruster isn't working - and our boat does not have good steerage in reverse - but we made it in with no damage. The bottom looks pretty good after a pressure washing - now we're waiting for the estimate on the rudder post stringer fix....and a few other items we may have the yard fix (labor isn't terribly high here - roughly $50-60 per hour - less than Ft. Lauderdale which was often $100-120 per hour). So now we're all checked into the hotel. We have a reallly comfortable bed - and AC! I love the shower so much I told Lee I want to put the same one in our house when we get home. And - the epitome of luxury - ICE for my soda!!!!!!
The pool is a lovely infinity edge pool overlooking the Pacific and the island of Moorea - the girls and I will head to the pool after a few math lessons.
Lee is going back to the boat to see if they have an estimate yet, and pull what's left in the fridge. We're a little concerned because when Lee described the problem/showed them they said "big job" - doesn't sound promising - and although I certainly wouldn't turn down another week in the hotel it's pretty expensive! Hopefully we'll have a better sense of what to expect once Lee talks to them today.
feeling oh so much better after a really good night of sleep!
