May 22
We have been sailing along beautifully for the past 24 hours. The wind and waves cooperated and we sailed without rolling nonstop side to side. Days like that remind me of childbirth - it's so nice you almost forget the pain (the pain of motoring and rolling in this case!). We just came through a little squall and the wind died but has already started to fill back in.
We are still heading West watching the grib files and weather forecasts. The trough/depression is expected to develop over the next few days so we have to keep an eye on that. Hopefully we can miss the worst of it.
We have been working on lessons this morning and I'm about to read the last few chapters of Genome. Sam is reading "babysitter's club" series now.
Oh, and lunch, one of the drawbacks of cruising is no calling up for Chinese or Domino's delivery!
