For me, it is the 4th time with the ARC. I like to give
you skippers and crew the advice to organize early the provisioning for the
passage.
I made good experiences with
asking the sailors, what they are eat, what they are
don't eat
ask what they prefer for drinking (water with/without
gas, orange juice, tea, coffee etc.)
do a plan for the menus you want to cook
buy net to hang up the vegetables, fruits
account for 26 / 30 days (cruisers)
take instead of milk in a can milk powder
install a water maker (e.g. 5-6 L p/hours)
take instant tea and coffee with you
and last but not least: before you take the things on
board, be sure, that you do not bring any carton with you and wash
everything before you storage it
And now, here a menu you can cook easily:
Couscous Salad for 8 Portions:
250 - 300 gram Couscous (1 Minute)
3 Tomatoes
1 Cucumber
1 Onion
a handful of Raisins
1/4 Paprika
Balsamic Vinegar
lemon juice
Olive Oil
Pepper, Salt, Paprika, if you get Mint
herbs
cook the couscous for 1/2 Minutes as descript on the
pack. Cool it down. Cut all vegetables in little pieces and mix it with the
couscous. Put vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper etc. in it, steer it
/ taste it and if necessary but some more salt or pepper etc. on it. That-s it
folks. Easy done, and every body like it.
You can serve it together with melon, give a nice dish
on hot days.
