We had a day of trying, some will say a trying day! depends on how you perceive ocean sailing. Just after sunrise up went the spinnaker and it just set. The forecast predicted the wind filling so we trimmed, tried, and altered course on every degree of wind shift. By lunch time the wind was half of what we started with and the Kite was taken down. We were hot and cooled down under buckets of sea water. Now we head north , chasing that elusive stuff that a few days ago we had so much of, wish us luck.

With slow speed the hygiene level improves both for the body and the kitchen zone. Use of seawater for cooking and doing the dishes is saving on the freshwater. We are living from tinned food and some of the crew members are counting the meatballs being served for each crew member with great enthusiasm.

Infirmary Report, day 12: Keith's thumb couldn't be stitched and he will have another scar to talk about; Rune got food poison and was declared not fit for duty at 16.00 hours; Henrik copied cat his Scandinavian mate and was declare useless to do any work at 22.00 hours; Alex developed a subtle bronchitis and refused return to work at 23.00; Barbara remains on antibiotics and pain killers for her acute otitis. The medic threw his hot camomila drink on his foot when finished his round. In summary today has been an eventful day with many casualties and health related issues. There are now all fixed and performing their duties as expected. Doc
Calm. Our ETA on 15/12/12 more realistic. We need wind!
Alex.
A temporary change of watch due to sickness meant I got the master cabin for a snooze this morning; very comfortable and I was not disturbed by the engine going on either. A shower at the back of the boat with salt water soap was most refreshing although I didn't go for the plunge like Alex and Rune; shark bait!
