A great night at the ARC Family BBQ

Last night’s Family Barbecue at the Club Varadero was well attended by the impressive number of ARC kids taking part in the Atlantic crossing this year. No less than 28 children aged 16 or under from 9 different nationalities are set to take on ARC 2013 with their parents. The amazing family feel that the ARC has always had as means friendships are quick to form between children and parents alike and last night's BBQ was soon off to a flying start (almost literally with games of 'Harry Potter' taking place).

Many ARC children have been taking an active interest in preparing the boat for ARC 2013 - Lyell on board Edelweiss was on hand to show the ARC Safety Inspectors around as part of his role as Chief Grease Officer (LCR). Lyell's other duties include organising of an entire set of all tools necessary to fix any system on boat, clear labelling of all switches, handles and gauges and to respond to all strange noises, smells, or anomalous activities of boat!
