Racing Division begin to arrive in Rodney Bay

Three ARC boats are now safely tied up on the dock in Rodney Bay Marina after their fast atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria. Second to arrive after Vaquita was the Swan 80 Berenice TWT, which looked stunning as she glided passed Pigeon Island before hardening up to enter Rodney Bay just as the Sun began to rise.

Berenice was greeted out at the finish line by the ARC berthing team who made it out in a rib to see them cross the line, as well as the local Police boat who also wanted to congratulate the new arrivals. Once through the cut, the crew of Berenice were met on the dock by smiling yellow shirts ready to take their lines followed by a fresh Rum punch. Skipper Marco Rodolfi said they had really enjoyed the crossing and wanted to congratulate the crew on Vaquita for racing so well.

Tyke was next to arrive, crossing the line at 14:22 local time Saturday 8 December. They too enjoyed fair winds as part of a great race particularly with friendly Italian rivals Berenice, however did have a few torn spinnakers to show for it at the end.

Another six boats are expected to arrive over the night, slightly earlier than expected due to some stronger more favourable winds as they approach Saint Lucia.

Crew from Tyke happy to be in Saint Lucia
