Meeting Up in Fortaleza

The World ARC fleet are getting together after their free –cruising period in Brazil at the rendezvous port of Fortaleza. It was a busy day today as five more boats joined those already berthed alongside at the pontoons of the Marina Park hotel. Conditions for berthing were not ideal with a strong cross wind but when everything was done and boats were tied up, there was the fantastic swimming pool area to visit for a drink, swim, sunbathe and relax.

With most boats arriving earlier than expected in Fortaleza, there will be more time for crews to visit some of the local places of interest, such as the 12 coloured earths at Morro Branco and the fabulous beaches and dunes that lie to the west and east of Fortaleza. But having completed so many miles at sea, the crews have seen many beaches and so there’s also the options to visit the inland areas of Ceara as well.

Back at the boats, chores such as refuelling, reprovisioning and laundry will have to be done. Fortunately these services are available to the dock at Marina Park and so hopefully will be completely quite swiftly.

The restart to the Caribbean will take place on Friday 08 March after international clearances and the skippers briefing on the next port of Grenada are complete.
