All In!
After a very swift sailing leg from Brazil, all the World ARC yachts who left from Fortaleza are now safely berthed in the very handsome Port Louis Marina in Grenada. The fleet have really been enjoying the superb facilities here in the marina and the stay will undoubtedly provide the necessary break from the long passage making since South Africa and the next few weeks of relaxing cruising around the Caribbean’s Windwards Islands.
Having arrived earlier than expected, the fleet have had more time to spend here in Port Louis and on Grenada. That time has been spent visiting the chandlery ‘on the doorstep’ - Island Water World, reprovisioning at the local Foodland or Spice Island Mall and beginning to explore the island by hire car. That all sounds very active, so fair to also say that the bar, restaurant and beauty spa inside the marina grounds have been very busy with crews looking for some relaxation too.
The World ARC programme continues. The next event is a presentation by James Pascall of Horizon Yacht Charters Grenada to help the crews decide where they may want to visit after departing Port Louis and before arriving in Saint Lucia in 3 weeks time. There are some great cruising destinations around Grenada and to the north. The fleet will be together again on Friday night for a welcome function and prizegiving and again on Saturday for the World ARC tour of the island.
It’s easy to conclude that all is well and everyone’s having fun!
