Partying in Grenada!

The World ARC fleet enjoyed a fantastic party this evening in beautiful surroundings at Port Louis Marina in St. Georges Harbour. The Grenadian Minister of Tourism, Ms Alexandra Otway-Noel and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Senator Brenda Hood, along with the management team of Port Louis Marina, attended to help welcome the World ARC fleet back to the Caribbean.

The evening had a very Caribbean feel to it from the start as the crews met on the lawn for welcome Rum Punches whilst being entertained by the steel pan band – The Wizards.  The laid back setting, around the swimming pool at the marina, symbolised what has been (and will hopefully continue to be) a very relaxed time in Grenada.  The food, cooked by the Victory Bar & Grill, was excellent and also typical of Grenada.

During the evening, World ARC Event Manager, announce the results of the last competitive leg from Brazil. The prizewinners, on corrected time, in the Cruising Division were, in Class A, GUNVOR XL (first and Line Honours for the fleet), Working on a Dream (2) and BRIZO (3) and in Class B, Trompeta (1), Peat Smoke (2) and Mr Blues (3). Anastasia came first in the Multihulls division and having started late, also had the fastest passage time. Ruby and BRIZO also won prizes in the fun competition.

The evening started relaxed but as the prize-giving concluded, those in the mood for dancing and listening to music, were enticed by the DJ at the Victory and the YOLO bar to get to their feet and party into the night.

The fleet go on an tour of the island on Saturday and a few crew members may be looking to rest on the bus in between the stops on the tour!
