Introducing ARC Portugal 2013

Crossing the Bay and Biscay in company and discovering the delights of the Portuguese coast.
The newly re-branded ARC Portugal 2013 is set to be another fantastic event with a total of 19 entries as the rally goes into her 19th year. ARC Portugal is a totally unique event, combining cruise-in-company with a sightseeing tour of Portugal’s best bits, finishing at the gateway of the Mediterranean, at the beautiful Marina De Lagos in the Algarve.

6 of the ARC Portugal boats are going on to take part in ARC 2013 – Abraxas, Arcarius of Plymouth, Charlotta1, Leviathan II, Starblazer, and Webster; whilst others have more relaxed cruising plans after arriving in Lagos, including exploring the Mediterraneanand possible circumnavigations. Starblazer owned by John Easteal, after ARC 2013 will be participating in World ARC 2014.

Casamara owned by Simon Philips will be the only yacht joining us in Bayona, with the remaining 18 yachts all taking the start on 2 June from Plymouth. The rally office in Mayflower Marina will open on Thursday 30 May where boats can come and check in with the rally team followed by the essential safety inspection to be completed prior to departure.

There are two catamaran’s in the fleet this year, the identical Broadblue 385’s Imagine and Infinite Dream, and the rest mono-hulls, the largest being the Farr 56 PH – Farfelu, and the smallest, Yacht Idefix, the X-Yacht X-34 owned by Eric Goethals, one of two Belgian flagged yachts participating in the rally.

The rally team look forward to greeting the fleet in Mayflower Marina from Thursday 30 May for the beginning of another great ARC Portugal.
