Rally team awaits arrivals into Bayona

The Rally boats have been making some great progress across the Biscay with the first arrivals due just before dark tonight, Thursday 5 June. The Beneteau First 35 Leviathan II is now leading the fleet followed closely by Quirine who have taken a slightly more Western route and Nordlys who have stayed East. Many boats have recorded some great 24 hour runs on their 550NM passage from Plymouth. The fleet have encountered fair winds and fine sailing conditions as reported in many yachts’ daily logs.

Yacht Unleashed left Plymouth just over 24 hours behind the rest of the fleet due to a few repairs needing to be completed, however have covered some good distances and will not be far behind the rest of the fleet on arrival. Yacht Casamara will be joining the rally in Bayona and hopes to arrive at the Real Clube De Yates on Sunday 9 June, ready for the start to Povoa de Varzim on Tuesday 11 June.

The Rally team have now arrived into Bayona and look to have a busy evening ahead of them with arrivals expected from 0130 Thursday morning and then throughout the day. Real Clube De Yates is looking as beautiful as ever for the fleets arrival, even if it is in the middle of the night!
