A fine farewell for World ARC in Saint Lucia

A fine farewell function was enjoyed by over 140 participants last night at the Royal by Rex Resorts. This final event was kindly sponsored by the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and provided all involved with a last chance to enjoy some socializing amongst other participants before setting off to sea the following morning with their boat crew. Complimentary drinks and tapas style finger food was served whilst the islands top Steel-Pan Band provided an authentic soundtrack for the fleets last night in the Caribbean.

Once the music had finished, some speeches were made as both Andrew Bishop the Managing Director of World Cruising Club and Donovan Williams, the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism addressed the fleet before departing for Panama at midday on Saturday. Andrew announced that a further 4 year contract with Saint Lucia has been agreed meaning World Cruising Club will be bringing boats to the islands in January, April, and December every year from now on with both the ARC and World ARC.

‘This has been a great week of activities; we’ve loved it all and feel we have already made some strong friendships. But now we feel ready to get going. Laurie – Yacht Nexus
