Sailing south of Madagascar to Richard's Bay, South Africa

Sailing to complete their final passage of the Indian Ocean, the World ARC fleet are underway to Richard’s Bay in South Africa, a 1400 nautical miles passage. The departure destination of La Reunion was full of activities and opportunities of adventure. Making the most of their time, many of the crews enjoyed hiking up volcanic craters, discovering the island by helicopter and paragliding before finishing with a fun farewell Halloween costume party.

“Between the abysses, wild canyons, waterfalls, volcanoes, rain forest and peaks the helicopter ride shows the fascinating world of Reunion! It was not to be missed!” - Celebrate

Now underway, the fleet are encountering variable wind conditions as a big high pressure begins to settle over their position. Winds are expected to increase however in a favourable direction as the fleet sail south of Madagascar before crossing the famous Agulhas current prior to arrival in Richard’s Bay.

“It's a beautiful day and the Indian Ocean is a deep indigo blue which is beautiful” – Nexus
