World ARC 2023-24 Arrives in Mauritius

The arrival of the World ARC 2023-24 fleet in Port Louis marks the completion of a 2300+ nm journey from Cocos Keeling, an Indian Ocean Territory of Australia. The fleet of twenty boats began to arrive on the 14th October with the last boat arriving today, 18th October. Fat Kat II was first to cross the line, quickly followed by Maroro. Hoka Hey and Eldorado were only a short while behind with Amanzi and Sara of Sweden hot on their heels. Leg 11 has certainly been a strong leg for the multihull division. Now that final arrivals Bohemen and Meermowe have arrived to Le Caudan Basin, results are being calculated and will be revealed at Sunday evenings prize-giving dinner function.

All boats are now berthed in Le Caudan Basin and enjoying some rest ashore after their voyage across the Indian Ocean. Port Louis has thus far been very impressive. The bustling city has many local markets; shops and restaurants; and is surrounded with a picturesque mountain range. The World ARC Tour, set to take place this weekend, delves more deeply into the history of Mauritius.

So with plenty to do and see it’s time to enjoy Mauritius!
