What a fantastic day for the beginning of the World ARC 2025-26 Rally! A circumnavigation lasting 15 months and the opportunity for the participants to visit some of the most amazing, beautiful and remote islands in the world.
The sun was shining, the seas were calm and there was a gentle easterly breeze to set everyone on their way. The fleet of 32 yachts was splendid, with many flying their colourful sails as they crossed the starting line and continued on the first part of their 815 nautical mile leg from Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia to Santa Marta, Colombia.
The World ARC fleet was extremely privileged to be bid farewell by the Deputy Prime Minister of St Lucia, the Honorable Dr Ernest Hilaire and the General Manager of IGY Rodney Bay Marina, Mr Sean Devaux. Friends and family were also able to hop on some local boats and give the fleet a wave as they set sail on their adventure.
We wish the fleet fair winds, calm seas and a fabulous sail to Colombia where the yellow shirts will be waiting to give them a warm welcome.
A big thank you to our partners in St Lucia for all the support throughout the World ARC programme – St Lucia Tourism Authority, ECSL – Events St Lucia and IGY Rodney Bay.
