Despite being one of smallest States in Brazil, Ceará has one of the longest coastlines in the country. Fortaleza is the capital of this seaside state and has some of the nicest urban beaches in Brazil. The rest of Ceará has well preserved nearly wild and unexplored beaches.

Fortaleza has been for decades one of the most popular destinations of Brazilian tourists. In recent years, the fame of Fortaleza has been increasing in the world too, attracting international tourists. Visitors are attracted by a combination of the sunny beaches, the busy nightlife, the delicious culinary fare, the rich Brazilian culture and the very friendly people.
Exploring
Along the coast there are cliffs of coloured sands, rolling dunes, salt flats, reefs, palm-lined beaches, beaches with freshwater lagoons, tiny traditional fishing villages and some larger settlements that are popular with local weekenders. Beach buggies are very popular and a good way to explore this coastline and definitely a more exhilarating way that just a tour bus!
The World ARC crews will spend their last few days in Brazil in Fortaleza before heading off to the Caribbean. Definitely a place that worth a visit!
