Saida - Saida day 16 & 17
Yesterday, December 6, at 8.27 UTC we were the 27th boat to cross the finish line in St Lucia after 17 days at sea! It was a great adventure and we are looking forward to a few relaxing days on this Caribbeanisland with Reggae music and Christmas trees and rum punches. But first, our 50 year old lady SAIDA needs our attention and a lot of maintenance/repair work to be done…Thanks for all your support and interest in our journey!.

Saida - Saida day 14 & 15
Great sailing day on Saturday but winds varied up to 40 degrees from their forecast, which was not in our favor, forcing us off a direct heading to the finish line. In addition, on Sunday, a Squall took us by surprise, cracking the bow sprit. This means for the remaining 2 days, we can't use our gennaker. Other than that, all good. Still enough food and the cooks deserve the first Michelin Star ever given to a sailing yacht!.

Saida - Saida day 12 & 13
Thursday was difficult: we were forced to jibe and go further southwest on the search of stronger and more consistent trade winds. We found them on Friday morning and we are now on a more or less direct heading towards the finish line with steady 14-22 kn from the east and boat speeds of up to 12 kn. We are now pretty much the most south of the entire ARC fleet. Let's see if it was a good move... All good here, SAIDA is in her element and so is the crew..

Saida - Saida day 10 & 11
We continue to head west toward St.Lucia at good speed, using our Gennaker day and night. Only exception was a 15 minute squall moving through bringing rain and 25 kn winds where we had to take it down for a few minutes. The first rain in over 2 weeks felt good but only lasted a few minutes. All good on SAIDA, crew is healthy and always hungry..
