Abraxas - 16/12/13 - 100 milj do cilja

Abraxas - 16/12/13 less than 24hours to go
ETA remains the same asyesterday, early hours of Tuesday am. We are currently cruising at 7knotsover the ground in approx 25knots of wind having just passed through a squallproducing winds of ore than 30knots. Gary and Karen are doing the washingup whilst Paul and Drew are recovering from their respective eveningwatches. Igor as always is busy reading a typing up his own personal account of the voyage –I do not know how he manages in the bow cabin with all that bouncingaround. As I type, we are 51nm NE of Barbados and 116nm off St StLucia. The Raymarine auto pilot, who has now become known as the seventhmember of the crew, Ray is at the helm whilst the squall pass. He is asteady hand and never looses concentration like we all do.

Abraxas - 15/12/13 Getting closer now
Just a quick blog tosay that we expect to arrive in St Lucia early hours of Tuesday, probably about0300hr. The wind has remaining t about 20-25 knot often gusting over 30knots. Crew are all fine but increasingly looking forward to avariety of pursuits ashore. These include Drew wanting a pizza, Karenwanting a warm shower and everyone wanting a well earned rest. Lookingforward to seeing Ness, Andrina, Dorcas, Marc, Arabella and Frances when theyarrive on 21st December – at least we will be there before you which wasquestionable when we had such light winds initially. Abraxas still holdingup well little further to report at present but hope allwell.>Nick.

Abraxas - 12/12/13 The Rhythm of the Sea
We are now about 600 nautical miles from our destination and the boat andcrew are in good shape. Speeds are typically 6-8 knots – all downhillsailing. We did a good rig check this morning and Abraxas is doing us allproud. The trade winds are now in full swing and the ocean is delivering afantastic landscape of large waves and swell which have spiced things up alittle bit for the crew. The beautiful blue waves line up/ tower up behind the boat casting ashadow over the helmsman before they pass, only to be replaced by another, likea relentless marching army. The rhythm of the waves seems to dictate therhythm of the crew. Simple tasks like pouring tea, buttering toast andeven using the bathroom (even typing this blog!) are all done to this.

Abraxas - Blog 13/12/13 Slovenian Edition- Slovenska izdaja bloga jadrnice Abraxas
