Tatt av Vinden - 16:37N 033:32W Tatt av vinden at noon 12 days out - No more genaker, but enough fish
We are sailing in 10 knots of wind, genoa and cutter. Slowly with coursefor StLucia. We are still 1580 nm from the finish line. Nice weather, nice most, except for very little wind. We sailed for three days with genaker, then the alyard broke. The newarrangement was no good. The thoughts I sent my rigger back home are not worthpublishing. OK, with more wind we shall make ok speed. In 2008 we only sailedfor four hours before the halyard broke, so a little improvement after all. Thethe original arrangement by Jeanneau was to blame that year. The pole for the genoa also broke, but just the fittings in the end, so weeasily improvised a replacement. We have more luck with fishing! Today, just after half an hour with thelure in the water, we had a nice dorado. Plenty for.

Tatt av Vinden - What a night on Tatt av vinden
This night it feels like somebody stole the trade winds. We are below 18N,and the sea is absolutely calm. Until one oclock we had just so much wind thatthe autopilot kept us on course, and during the day we had a light 8 – 10 kn. Afantastic day! But nothing beats the bright skys with all its stars. It is thenight of no moon. The moon is on the same side as the sun, and the sky is leftto the stars and the planets alone. We saw Venus as bright as we never did. Itruled entirely in its part of the sky. I woke up one hour before I should turnin at midnight UTC. When I saw the beautiful scenario over me, I brought thenight carpet with me to the cockpit, lay down on my back, and took the sight allin. In deep breaths. I felt so lucky, and so humble in the middle of theuniverse, in this soft.

Tatt av Vinden - 18:26.05N 24:53.29 Tatt av vinden - noon report
At six o'clock this morning Lars reported clear skies with stars. After adark night which was only enlighted by the blitzes from the thunderstorms, andrain, rain, rain, the message sounded too good to be true. We had passed thetrough with all its small and bigger lows. We were through! And we had nosqualls. Further north up to 70 kn of wind has been recorded. Again weexperience that the advice from Mads in FreeWind is very good and reliable. When Bjørn took over the watch from Eva at 0800UTC, the sun was rising. Nowit shines from a bright sky, and we have about 16 kn of wind from SE. We changedcourse for St. Luci. Next waypoint is 2100 Nm ahead of us. 24 C in the air. Thisfeels like trade wind sailing! The sun is now close to 2 hours after London time. The captain rules theship’s.

Tatt av Vinden - 26:39.01N 15:50.16W - Noon - First 20 hours - Tatt av vinden
It’s raining. No trades. Light winds (16 kn) on the stern. Running the engine. Just one m seas. The night was fantastic. Not very cold. The half moon rised around midnight. We did 3x3 hours watches. After this Eva slept from 0700 to 1000! While she was fast asleep we had two dolphins visiting us for a while. That is always great. We never get tired of looking at them.We were delayed at the start, because Bjørn had a light injury to his right arm some few days ago. It looked as it got wors, so he went to a hospital just in case. He was diagnosed in one hour. Very fast service, probably because we weared the ARC t-shirts. Nothing very serious with Bjørn’s arm, but an inflamation that probably will heal in a few days. Those boats that were on the starting line in due time were hit by a.
