Keoma - Keoma has made it!
Well, after our tour of the West African coast, a brief passing right through the middle of the only navigational obstacle in the whole ocean we eventually found the trade winds for the final week to blast into St Lucia. Everybody fit and well fed, down to last teabags and ran out of gas on last day so good job we in!Fantastic reception here by other competitors, pulled of a cunning overtaking manoeuvre against an Irish boat on the run into the finish, lets face it, we were not racing! Well done everybody -Team Keoma.

Keoma - Keoma Day 8 The butter has finally melted
Great day yesterday with a good mileage for the daylight hours as we weresurfing down 4-5 meter waves with double reefed main, wind veered and we gybedto get between a couple of the islands, met with a current right on thenose! Very strange. Sundowners went down well with Poyner arrivingon deck saying that it was the first time he had spent all day in his pyjamas(to be fair he was on mother watch and did a great job getting the evening mealout in very lumpy conditions). The Stowaway ready made meals were a bighit with everyone able to choose from a menu of 12. It is a strange feeling motor sailing through the Cape Verde islands with1/3 of our tank fuel gone and not stopping for diesel. Perhaps we aretempting the wind gods? It was after some debate that.

Keoma - Keoma Day 7
Well, after days of praying for wind it has arrived by the truckload! Steady breeze built through the night from 15 – 20 kts through to30 by day break. This brought about the corresponding sail changes fromkite to scrapet of headsail and the reefs went in, all good fun in the dark and5m swell running through. The menu might be a bit less sophisticated todaydue to the sea state, not sure the best silver wear will stay on thetable! All eyes on todays position log, has our southerly trajectory paidoff? Mike & Team Keoma Our skipper has evidently seen a shark this morning, last night was bumpyto say the least, followed by an even bumpier morning but at last pointing inthe right direction. Problem is the wind is due to drop again tomorrow so thereis talk of.
