George - The End?
Well we have arrived in St Lucia. All I can say is well done George who was certainly flat out constant for last week and kept us going over the 20 days. Thanks to Tim who prepared the boat amazingly and for giving me this life time opportunity. Thanks to all my crew members for a great trip.I am getting choked by even thinking about what we all achieved together and it was certainly together.A great team effort. Thanks MN.We have made it to St. Lucia in one piece, safe and well and all happy. 23.48 UT Saturday (some time in the evening St. Lucian time!).What a trip and what a welcome into St. Lucia by the ARC team and St. Lucian Tourist board, crossing the line in heavy winds and rain and then being presented with a basket of fresh fruit and rum punch cocktail as soon as we stepped onto.

George - 4th place? Not without a fight!
Captains log supplemental.Since we spotted Annabella (the yacht in 4th place) we have let George go flat out (ish) we are now achieving 11-12 knots with 14 in the gusts. I am reluctant to let all the reefs out fully at night... because we are going over hull speed. We are seeing a new side to George... doing rig checks every 1/2 hour...Tim.

George - The sight of land is imminent
As the last full night approaches we are starting to see other boats on the AIS and appearing on the horizon we must now start to 'up the pace' I think everyone on board is looking forward to making land fall. It has been a long slow trip, but we are now getting regular speeds of 10 knots and over. On the domestic front Mick has been caught hiding Snicker bars and crisps in a secret compartment in his cabin....this was a big shock to the crew... but now we have a surplus of Chocolate and Crisps for the last 24 hours.... I thought he was a bit quiet, it's always the quiet ones you need to watch....!Good morning from SY George and we are hopefully less than 40 hours away from the finish in fair winds and sunny skies. We saw some fantastic exploding shooting stars last night which literally.

George - 500 miles to go....Diver required?!
I am in shock this morning, last night we lost the propeller off the towed generator. For those who don't know what a towed generator is it is a rope with a propeller attached to it, the other end is attached to a alternator that generates electricity as you sail along, it is specially good for sailing downwind. We have now rigged our high speed prop but it only works at speeds over 6 knots... if we go less than that we will slowly lose power and eventually go 'dark' on the bright side it didn't happen on my watch! TBVery lively 24 hours and no place for humour. All Tim's boat and passage preparations, of which there were many and many pennies spent, were all worth it as the boat has put up with quite a hammering through a rather squally night, so all credit must go to Tim and George,.
