K1W1-Beanz - Log day 3 - Learning about volcanoes

K1W1-Beanz are going "off curriculum" this week to learn about volcanoes and evolution in preparation for landing in Galapagos in a few days.Lowen, Theo and Reuben did some great work this morning with their cousin Jago, who is off to study Geography at university next year, so is much better placed than us to lead on this topic.Lots of talk of magma and lava this afternoon - when the seas calm down a bit we plan get the science kit out and make a few exploding volcanoes of our own! image1. read more...

Lowen was delighted to start off the WARC 2016 Pacific KidsNet as Net Controller this afternoon.He was a little nervous but did really well and loved chatting to the other boats about the huge turtle we saw today.
