Louise - Blog 16 - 21st Day at Sea

I do not have a lot of news for you. As the wind does not fill my sails Ihave to use the motor a little. This was not what my crew planned for, but theyare happy to know that St. Lucia is only 325 nm from here. Thinking about thecrew with Columbus in the middle of the Atlantic without wind, not knowing ifthe earth was flat, not knowing if they would ever see land, not being able tochange the situation. We are fortunate to know that we are heading for a beautiful place, it justtakes time. We try our utmost to speed up our arrival but no stress. The crewenjoy good food, the quiet ocean, sun, moon and stars. I saw a ship last night and I know that several other ARC boats are around,so I shall meet them and all my other friends in 3 days time in RodneyBay. On behalf of Louise, Carina  . read more...

Louise - Blog 15 - 20th Day at Sea

I did not write yesterday as nothing much happened and then I found outChristmas is coming soon, and I had not made my wishing list for Santa, so hereis what I wrote: “Dear Santa, I’m little Louise on my way to St. Lucia. Unfortunately someof my gear broke, so I wonder if it would be too much to ask for repair of mysails? Maybe new ones? And I do need a new haleyard, and a wire for my davids. Anew fridge would be nice too and if you could do something about my autopilot, the two of them use too much power. Oh yes, the freezer has high powerconsumption too. Do you think you could replace it? Of course on the smallerside I need more oil filters and other minor spareparts. Fuel willl be needed, but I guess my owner will take care of that. But maybe I could have a smallpresent when arriving. read more...

Louise - Blog 14 - 18th Day at Sea

I want to move faster, and the crew feels the same. We had a sunny day anda lovely night with the moon and the stars. The crew does a lot of reading and eating. They try to get their sleep toowhich can be difficult as my movements are not stable in the swells and low windspeed. There is not much we can do about it. Put on some music and look at thebright sides. 666 nm to go, and friends are waiting for us when we arrive. On behalf of Louise, Carina    . read more...

Louise - Blog 13 - 17th Day at Sea

I’m still making my way to St. Lucia. I did not tell you that a few daysago a seam in the main sail broke so we are only having the fog/jib and themizzan. But we make progress, and the crew are still in good mood. I let themuse the sattelite phone to call Jan’s daughter and Carinas mother. They werehappy talking to them. I do not expect us to arrive St. Lucia before the finishing line closesd on19th December. If the weather Gods and Neptun are kind to us we might be able toattend the price giving ceremony. Still 764 nm to go. On behalf of Louise,Carina. read more...
