Corryvreckan - Sailing the Atlantic and sponsorship
It is getting very close to the day when the madcapidea I came up with a few years ago after rekindling my love of sailingis about to beput into action. Very shortly (in less than a week!!!) I will sailingout of the Med through theStraits of Gibraltar and heading for Las Palmas, Gran Canaries, to takepart in the 2018 ARC+ Atlantic crossing. With this in mind I thought Iwould look to be sponsored by all / anyone that would like to donate. Ispent nearly 30 years in education and thoroughly enjoyed it. There mayhave been the odd day or student that got the better of me, but overall,it was such a lovely career to have chosen and I have many wonderfulmemories. Corryvreckan - Arrived in Gibraltar.
Having driven out to Gibraltar, ostensibly to unload the yacht of all the 'extras' accumulated over the past two seasons of sailing, I actually arrived with probably more stuff than I'm going to take back home. Eric (my engineer) has spent the last couple of days attempting to install both my Hydrovane and water maker. I'm experiencing problems getting the Hydrovane to fit due to the solar panel gantry being in the way. However, with emails and Skype calls to Will Curry we feel that we could be in business with an operational wind vane sometime next week - once longer tubes are shipped in. The water maker is virtually there, give or take a missed reading of where certain parts should be positioned, but should be ready to test tomorrow.
