Incisor of Wight - Re: update

In a recent message, you wrote:Subject: updateFrom: venom Dear All,Overnight Monday to Tuesday light winds made progress relatively slow however the wind information is that we still need to go further south. During Tuesday am winds strengthened to 10-12 knots from the NE and the sunshine came out, even more broad grins around. Tuesday afternoon the wind went further east and we managed to go further SW still gybing for the south as conditions allowed.Tuesday evenings meal skillfully cooked by master chef Ian with assistance from the rest of the watch aka Fabulous four (William, Ian, Tom & Kent) produced a meal at 8pm which was acknowledged as more than satisfactory.During the night Tuesday Wednesday morning wind strengthened from the NE and Incisor started showing her longs legs (. read more...

Incisor of Wight - Log day 4

HelloAnother day on board the big brother boat! Everyone is now settled into a routine and are all getting along well. Our Spinnaker peels and gybes have all been pretty much without fault, as you who have sailed with us before will know!!Rob our resident sailmaker has had little to do except helm. Bunk surfing has just started which I hope will be OK in future nights. Paul slept in he forepeak yesterday afternoon when we caught a wave it forced the loo window open causing quite a dramatic shower in the heads. Paul thought that the loo had exploded! and checked to see if he was covered in anything! The Flying fish are out in force which does cause a lot of the chaps to scream like girls when they get hit. The nights, as there is no moon is like sailing up the back end of a cow to coin a. read more...

Incisor of Wight - Post party comments,

Just a quick thank you to all those who made the effort aboard to celebrate a few birthdays here on Incisor the evening started well enough after a little International incident involving the best way to prepare the tuna pasta, with lots of nations involved it was a tense time, which could of lead to a whole host of international fallout. In the end a compromise was reach with the English providing the man power to cook the pasta the German's with some Danish involvement the technical knowledge around the cooker finally Italy approving the final tasting. Dinner was a great success to round of a nice evening, As it had been a long hard day in the sun we where all good little sailors and in our bunks for 830pm.The weather is getting hotter and the mornings are getting later so by my crude. read more...

Incisor of Wight - Update

Hi All,First and foremost Kent would like to send his thanks for the best wishes email he received for his birthday.News so far, we had contact from another boat (Snow Leopard) yesterday, but in true racing style were unable to chat due to our unrelenting commitment to the race!Today Rob did his spider man (or is that spider monkey) impression by climbing up to the end of the spinnaker pole to change a worn strop. Rob also says hi to his Mum and Dad.We have picked up a new crew member who looks like he needs a good feed and a bed for the night, i should mention its an Egret and although it brings the average age of the crew down from 48 to 12 most of us are eying it up for tomorrows curry!Sailing along at night looking up at the stars in a boat no bigger than the average front room. read more...
