Boundless 1 - Log Day 1- Need sleep

8am, all on deck after a starboard gybe, fishing lines just going out! 172 miles behind us since start 19 hours ago. Steady NE, gusting to 30kts at 6am. Not a lot of sleep, as we all start to settle into a routine, learn more about the boat and start to feel more comfortable. We had a great start called by Geoff and were well placed towards the front of the fleet in light winds as we left Las Palmas behind us. Pan Pan at 5am as a yacht 20 miles behind us lost its rudder. So, our first day at sea - Annie and I can't use the cucumbers for the bags under our eyes, that will have to wait until we get closer to St Lucia and we know we won't starve!Sue. read more...

Boundless 1 - Day 2 - No Fish

Beautiful day, heading south with main and gennakerin 20kts NE, very pleasant. Boys working hard to get some more speed on! Havelost several lures, hard to imagine any fish being able to jump on at this pace!Lines keep getting heavier and heavier. Have heard radio reports of fishbeing caught, so we know they are out there. Off watch all slept better lastnight. Sue. read more...

Boundless 1 - Day 4 - Still No Fish

After several more trips up the mast, we now have a gennaker flying and halyard intact. A night with goosewinged main and genoa did mean we all had a good sleep eventually! It's getting warmer as we head south towards 20 degrees. Butter not melting, so not at a point to "turn right"yet. Stories of Dorado being caught around us today and guess what - no fish yet  on Boundless! Lunch today was again a crew social event and cause for many  laughs. Two other yachts in sight at present making the day more interesting.Dinner about to be served, watches change at 7pm. Each watch alternates three hours on and three off between 7pm and 7am and four hours on and off from 7am to 7pm.Everyone well and happy.Sue. read more...
