The Moody 422 is manufactured by Marine Projects Limited in accordance with ISO9002 and designed by Bill Dixon. All design and construction processes are R.I.N.A. approved in compliance with E.C. directives. This yacht is design and built to undertake the rigours of category A "ocean" sailing defined as: Craft designed for offshore voyages where conditions experienced may exceed windforce 8 (Beaufort scale) and include significant wave heights of 4 m, for vessels that are largely self sufficient. She is a centre cockpit with wheel steering and can accomodate 6 people.The hull is hand-laid GRP with CSM, the deck is balsa cored GRP sandwich, the keel is external cast iron and the rudder is GRP partially skeg-hung. The rig is double spreader masthead sloop with single backstay and twin lowers and the engine is a Yanmar 4JH4AE with a KM35P marine gear and a MaxProp propeller.
