Indaba - Lagos to Las Palmas
INDABA'S BLOG FROM LAGOS TO FUNCHALDISTANCE 489 nm TIME 93 hr SPEED 5.25 knApart from a 9 hour lull on the second day and the last hour, we sailed all the way predominately in F 4-6 and generally pleasant weather. First afternoon dozens of dolphins played around the boat and set off the shallow alarm a number of times in 100m of water. Had to partially dismantle and repair the Neptune the first evening because the main bolt holding the tower upright had worked loose allowing the paddle to go too far to starboard. We had to disconnect and straighten the con rod which had been buckled and somehow managed to do so without dropping any of the nuts and bolts. Indaba - Home to Porto in July
INDABA'S BLOG DATE FROM TO DIST TIME SPEED nM hr kn5.7.11 Titchmarsh Ramsgate 54.3 10h55 5.0 We left on this date as planned last September. Indaba - Porto to Lagos
INDABA'S BLOGDATE FROM TO DIST(NM) TIME(Hrs) SPEED (kn) Crew change at Porto where Alex, Chris & Charlie left and Noreen, Jenness, Anne & Jeff arrived. Our first Portuguese meal for 5 cost us just 35 Euros including 1.5 litres of wine. Leixoes (Porto) to Lagos trip was littered with pot markers, many of which had no poles or flags, particularly near harbour entrances. 3.8.11 Leixoes (Porto) Aveiro 30.5 6.1 5.0 Light winds meant we only sailed for 1 hour or so.
