Rosita - Cape Verdes

HiYou may have noticed our track has bumped into land!We were going very well and in a routine trying to sail with whatever wind we had. The majority of boats ahead of us had motored ahead due to the lack of wind at times. The latest weather report we received was forecasting head winds of 20knts with a 4m swell which didn't sound too comfortable for a few days. As we were still north of Cape Verdes we decided to stop off for a couple of days and hopefully the wind will come around and we can make a good passage towards St Lucia. There are a few boats here who have had the same idea or have come in for fuel as they used their engine for a long period. Rosita - Trade Winds

Well the weather looks like it's finally changing for the better so we are setting off again from Cape Verdes. I think we are the last ARC boat to leave but as long as we arrive safely it doesn't really matter. We've had a nice time here in Cape Verdes and met a lot of other boats waiting to cross.Hopefully we will be able to sail all the way. If there was a prize for the boat that sailed the most and motored the least, I think we would win hands down.. read more...
