White Wave III - The BLURRRRRRR

Currently 36.30N; 52.27W; Est. 26C; Little Wind; Motoring @ 7 knots; Bearing 080 (what does that mean, she said?) Est. dist. to Horta, Faial...two weeks?The days have begun to blur into endless sunny days, calm waters, blissful clouds....I've lost count of how long we've been on the water.Who cares.Did the early night shift which meant a good nights sleep....calm waters means serious clean up and LAUNDRY!Handwashing in salt water, smalls etc. hanging off the lines.V. pretty sight.Chocolate, butter, muesli bar supplies all running a bit short!- kjc. read more...

White Wave III - White Wave - Day Six

Currently Six days at sea, mostly easy, sometimes bumpy especially on a different tack.Fresh fruit + veggies now in short supply.Last night most gorgeous evening....veggie curry w baked spuds, crisp bottle of white, on deck listening to Adele while watching yet another gorgeous sunset.Leaks plugged --- until the next big crash of water.Medic seems to holding on to the rum for "MEDICINAL PURPOSES ONLY".Now crew all complaining of various aches, pains and mysterious illnesses.Suspect, I say.Another 8 days of this, perhaps. White Wave III - Skipper of White Wave iii survives pacific passage.

Ok so that is a bit dramatic considering I just flew in a Qantas jetfrom Sydney to New York, enjoyed their wonderful service as well asone movie and six episodes of The House of Cards series.It's a longway.I'm ahead of White Waves' crew, and after a few days in New York, it's down to the Yacht in Annapolis to start the long, and arduous task ofreadying the yacht for the Altantic. Can't believe I'm doing this.Being surrounded by only the Pacific, Indian and the Great SouthernOcean, it seems odd that my first full ocean passage will be theAtlantic.Nervous and Excited.. read more...
