Mojeka - Transatlantic Day 5

18:00 UTC Monday Nov. 22, 2015
Position: 15.7536667N, 36.457015W

FISH, FISH, beautiful FISH!

at last they are biting. 5 fish in one day!

Now for the bad news: we initially did not know what they where, so we took one out, then George looked it up in his fish book: "Greater Amberjack” – on the red list!!!

So we threw all the others back (the first one tasted fantastic, by the way).

Now my theory: if all we catch is them, how can they be endangered? If we catch nothing else, they are possibly mean predators, killing all the others (such as the tuna we are after). So we should take them all out and do the multiculti fish family a great service!

We definitely need a second opinion on that question.

Apart from that: pleasant sailing, winds around 15 to 22knots, just slightly over the limit where we can hoist the Gennaker. Towards evening we did try it for a while, but soon the wind picked up to 24kt again and it had to come back down. So the night was spent with 6 to 7.5kt over ground, definitely not our best.

On the menu: Skippers roast (delicious) with a de Grendel 2013 Shiraz. All is well!

Klaus
