Timshel - Cape Verde to St Lucia Day 7

Spent most of the night worrying about avoiding squalls, ready to reef but no real problems. Dark clouds this morning cleared to give a beautiful sunny day, good opportunity to practise sun sights, unfortunately also less wind so slower progress but very pleasant. Still on port gybe, we probably look like we're heading down to South America. Trouble is we really want to go dead downwind but we can't risk crash gybing the main by doing that especially as under self steering, so heading 30 deg off to the south. Maybe we should gybe back onto starboard this evening before dark? Steve busy being net controller for the SSB today, he is really getting into it. People are fantasising as to how they will celebrate getting to 1000 miles to go. For us this will probably late tonight or early morning so maybe with a special breakfast?
