Glory - Glory Lagoon 42 log day 13- Monsters in the night
Everything seems a little scarier and intense in the dark. Last night we had squalls to contend with. One minute there were stars everywhere then suddenly a black cloud comes out of nowhere and the wind shoots up to 30 kts. I get crew Mark out of bed and he clips in and goes to the bow to help me quickly furl the jib. A wall of wind and rain enveloped us and I was left wishing I had taken a second reef. I turned on my engines and tracked the ugly blob on the radar. Within minutes it passed us and tracked away to the south and dissipated. Relative calm returned, I drank some tea and thought: well that was exciting.
