Greetings from yacht Ensemble.
Well, the rain has eased, we saw a rainbow yesterday - and we are back exactly where we were when we arrived: waiting to be hauled out at the shipyard!
The good news is we are promised a lift out at tomorrow morning - so please keep your fingers crossed for us.
It has been a harrowing week. We have had more anchor drags (not just us - and the holding has been terrible - with high winds and rain to add to the mood and atmosphere of the place) - bilge pump failures (the bilge pumps are working non-stop to keep us afloat), float switch failures, a dead battery - just to name a few.
At least the people here are very friendly - and we have had wonderful support from the remaining World ARC boats (At Last, Zoe, Southern Cross, Eva, Sophie and Samsara).
We decided to move out to a hotel yesterday as we were just not getting enough sleep on the boat and were becoming exhausted.
Gerry (the consultant that is tasked with ensuring the sea-worthiness of the boat) has been a great help and very supportive. However we haven't heard anything from Pantaenius since we left Suwarrow - despite calls and numerous emails - hardly a customer centric attitude!
We are hoping the repairs will go well and we will be out by middle of next week. The fibre glass repairs are lined up - and the only other issue is problems with the Port side engine. All being well we plan to rejoin the World ARC in Fiji.
Fingers crossed!
Cheers
Dave & Magali
